The engineering bureau Symbiosei designs and manufactures custom IoT sensors and controllers for b2b clients. We create devices "turnkey" - from analytics and schematics to the production of a ready batch of equipment for automating commercial real estate, agribusiness, and development.
All our devices are by default compatible with open automation platforms, primarilyHome Assistant.
Key competencies of the Symbiosei engineering team
- 5+ years of experience working in field conditions. We design board architecture and select components that operate reliably in challenging operational environments (high humidity, coastal areas, extreme temperatures).
- Native integration with Home Assistant. Devices operate in a local network (Wi-Fi/Radio) and integrate with HA "out of the box". This eliminates dependence on third-party paid clouds, ensures the confidentiality of commercial data, and system autonomy in case of external internet disconnection.
- In-house final testing base. Before delivering a batch to the client, we test the electronics in our own technological facilities in three different climatic zones (France, Tenerife, Sinai). This allows us to identify and eliminate hardware vulnerabilities before installation on-site.
What we develop
We take on the full R&D cycle (schematics, PCB layout, firmware development, sensor calibration) for the following tasks:
- Microclimate monitoring: High-precision sensors for CO2 levels, temperature, humidity, and air quality for offices, hotels, and residential complexes.
- Agribusiness automation: Portable sensors for soil parameters, insolation, and humidity with optimized energy consumption (battery autonomy for several years) and stable long-range radio communication.
- Accounting and dispatching: Custom sensors for liquid levels, bulk materials, and infrastructure node statuses.
Industrial design and casing materials
We separate the design of internal electronics from external casing. This allows flexible adaptation of device appearance to meet your project requirements:
- Industrial solutions: Development of sealed boxes with the required protection class (IP) for harsh operating conditions.
- Designer and premium objects: Manufacturing casings from natural biomaterials (bamboo, wood, specialized composites) for seamless integration of sensors into eco-hotels' interiors or premium residential spaces.
Collaboration stages
- Task analysis and specification development: We study your sensor requirements, operating conditions, communication protocols, and power elements.
- Design and sample assembly: We create schematics, write firmware, and assemble initial physical device samples.
- Testing and calibration: We verify sensor accuracy, radio communication stability, and energy consumption in real working conditions.
- Batch production: We manufacture and calibrate the required volume of devices, providing technical documentation for integration.

Soil moisture sensor with additional mechanical protection
Under line-of-sight conditions, the standard helical antenna enables signal transmission over distances of up to 1,000 meters, while maintaining ultra‑low power consumption. These sensors are capable of operating for three years or more without battery replacement
Experience has shown that adding a small display to indoor microclimate sensors makes them far more practical to use. It doesn't add much to the cost, but it makes a real difference in everyday comfort.
